UPDATE ON RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES COMING TO GRAND JUNCTION

It has been more than five months since those interested in opening a retail marijuana store in Grand Junction were required to submit their cannabis business applications, but the process before the lottery is still in progress. No one has been awarded a retail or medical marijuana store license yet, however the city did announce that six additional applicants have been approved for a place in the lottery drawing of qualified dispensary applicants.

There are now 21 approved and qualified applications, out of the original 47 that were submitted, and according to the latest information from the city, three are officially denied and 13 are pending approval. Kind Castle’s Organic Cannabis Superstore is one of these pending applications and is expected to be approved next week in the City of Grand Junction’s marijuana licensing process to proceed onto the lottery selection among the other applicants.

As indicated in this article, the City of Grand Junction is allowing 10 licensed retail cannabis stores within the city limits, and once those ten applicants are selected through the lottery process, they will each have up to one year to open a retail marijuana store.  Applicants are hoping the lottery will take place in December and bring end to a long licensing process. The Kind Castle Organic Cannabis Superstore will be located in the Orchard Mesa area at 2651 US Highway 50 in Grand Junction.
